(ISR) Senior Software Engineer - Automation Platform Development

**Job summary** The Red Hat Hybrid Cloud and Tools Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Far Edge initiative in Israel. In this role, you will work as a core developer on our automation platform, Continuous Productization as a Service (CPaaS), which provides tooling and services to Red Hat’s development teams and upstream communities. You will be part of Red Hat’s premier continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) group focused on hybrid cloud technologies. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will interact with other CI and CD, development, and quality assurance (QA) teams and work with the latest technologies in the market today like Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Prow, Jenkins, Python, Golang, and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. **Primary job responsibilities** + Develop, maintain, and enhance an innovative CPaaS automation platform + Work with the industry-leading CI and CD tools including Jenkins, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, Linux Containers, Operators, etc. + Be a part of our active community of engineers supporting the release orchestration of containers, including in the community projects, infrastructure, and support + Provide support for CI and CD across various projects, streams, etc. + Write Java or Groovy, Python, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, and shell scripts to automate workflows and integrate with other projects + Focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency; help define and refine metrics and process improvements + Strive for discrete, maintainable, scalable, and repeatable solutions + Communicate and work effectively with all levels of associates, including senior management; this means a clear ability to communicate status, create diagrams, charts, code comments, clear code, etc. + Serve as a team advocate for adopting best practices in documentation, testing, security, operational support at scale, and efficient use of resources; lead by example + Be ready to help users of the service; receive feedback and propose improvements **Required skills** + Degree in computer science or software engineering, or equivalent work experience + 5-7 years of proven experience with Linux operating system at the power user level or better + 5-7 years of experience writing code either in Python, Java or Groovy, or Bash + Solid written and verbal communication skills in English + Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, including for the purposes of root cause analysis and defect prevention efforts + Proven ability to learn on your own and technical understanding of processes + Solid ability to work as part of a team, rally those around you, lead by example, work on complex issues with minimal supervision, and deliver consistent results The following are considered a plus: + Experience developing an automation or orchestration platform + Jenkins declarative or scripted pipeline experience + Experience maintaining or developing Jenkins plugins + Demonstrated experience containerizing applications or workflows + Agile experience including scrums, kanban, backlog grooming, etc. + Presentation and public speaking skills for conferences and demos + Record contributing to an open source project or community \#LI-REMOTE **About Red Hat** Red Hat (https://www.redhat.com/) is the world’s leading provider of enterpriseopen source (https://www.redhat.com/en/about/open-source) software solutions, using a community-powered approach to deliver reliable and high-performing Linux, hybrid cloud, container, and Kubernetes technologies.
